In Preperation
Before I begin I just want to say that last night at work was good. I had a customer who does team work counciling for big compamies and we had a nice chat about that. Also, she told me about something called Trade Team Canada, they do trade work abroad and have missions to other countries and open the doors for Canadian traders. So needless to say I will be trying for a summer job there.
Alas, onto the blog!
So I'm in the process of re-reading soem of my notes and books to rejog my brain about the terms I need to know and I stumbulled on a few definintions I thought were kinda cool so heres the first, the definition of a Canadian
"A Canadian is a person who drives home in a Japanese car rom a French movie, opens his remote controlled German garage door with a transmitter made in Taiwan, slips out of his Malaysian rubbers and Italian shoes, puts on his Chinese robe and Hong Kong slippers and sips Colombian coffee from English China, while sitting on Danish furniture watching his youngsters play AMerican video games in their Korean sneakers. He then writes to a member of parliament with a Pierre Cardin pen made in Mexico, demanding that customs give his small firm protectopm from foreign imports and that Ottawa do something about the unemployment situation. And what he does not realize is that many of the foregin goods his family is using are made from materials and resources exported from Canada"
Sorry that was long.
and the second one is the cut down, bare bone definition of International Trade:
can be defined as"The co-ordinated movement of goods/services, documents and money across national boundaries"
both definitions are from "The Basics of Import/Export, 2nd edition" by Peter T. Malkovsky.
there we have it.
More Soon
Cheers,
Josh
